FIS maintains a strong global presence serving more than 14, 000 financial institutions in more than 90 countries and has 30,000 employees worldwide.  The Consumer ebanking team is looking for an Application IT Architect who will be  responsible for guiding the Application Development team through the development process.   The successful candidate will ensure development is being done right the first time and have an understanding of how their products relate with other products, and insure interdependencies are in focus. Success is measured on the ability to minimize re-work required after production implementation, which may be due to stability, performance, and/or functionality that does not support architectural tenets (services-oriented architecture, multi-bank processing, etc.).   Based upon the product roadmap/vision the Application Architect makes design decisions and technology recommendations to satisfy business requirements. Establishes a coherent architecture vision of how FIS enterprise software and infrastructure technology will be applied to best address current and expected future application needs. Continuously communicates the vision in an audience-appropriate manner, both internally and externally, from developers and designers to business owners and customers. Makes recommendations based upon this vision and associated analysis in order to satisfy tactical, operational, and strategic needs.   Ensures lead developers and designers are familiar with application, software and infrastructure technology assets, standards, and requirements along with software development best practices. Assists in the identification of patterns, techniques, tools, and processes that contribute to effective project execution and business-unit profitability.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements. Act as the tie breaker on design decisions. Document and communicate opportunities to leverage: Inter-project synergies Application and enterprise software or infrastructure asset re-use Opportunities to expose application assets for enterprise consumption. Has the ability to communicate the business value of "doing it right the first time". Communicate system architecture to technical and business audiences. Key liaison between Business, Software, and Infrastructure Architecture groups: Serve as the gateway to the enterprise software and infrastructure architecture governance process by identifying and guiding appropriate projects through the Solution Architecture Review Board. Remain current on all enterprise standards, policies, best practices, and technology trends, communicates them to the development teams, and guides their application.
